Adhering to international accreditation standards, the College prepares medical scientists, clinical researchers, and diagnostic specialists equipped with deep analytical knowledge, practical laboratory expertise, and ethical research principles to advance patient care and medical discovery. ​Academic Departments ​The College encompasses specialized scientific and diagnostic departments covering core medical and biomedical fields:

​Department of Anatomy & Histology: Gross Human Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Developmental Biology, and Microscopic Histopathology. ​Department of Physiology & Biophysics: Systems Physiology, Cellular Electrophysiology, Molecular Biophysics, and Applied Exercise Physiology. ​Department of Medical Biochemistry & Molecular Biology: Metabolic Pathways, Genomics, Proteomics, Molecular Genetics, and Clinical Enzymology. ​Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology: Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology, Parasitology, Clinical Immunology, and Immunopathology. ​Department of Clinical Pathology & Laboratory Medicine: Hematology, Blood Banking, Clinical Chemistry, Immunohematology, and Diagnostic Cytology.

​Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics: Molecular Pharmacology, Pharmacogenomics, Drug Safety, Toxicological Pathology, and Clinical Therapeutics. ​Department of Pathology & Cell Biology: General Pathology, Systemic Pathology, Molecular Oncology, and Cellular Diagnostics. ​System of Study & Academic Credit Hours ​The university operates under an Integrated Credit Hour System that combines rigorous theoretical instruction, advanced laboratory simulation, research methodology, and practical clinical rotations. ​Undergraduate Degree Program (B.Sc. in Medical Sciences): ​Total Academic Credit Hours: 160 Credit Hours. ​

Duration of Study: 4 Academic Years (comprising 3 years of foundational scientific and laboratory coursework followed by 1 full year dedicated to Clinical Laboratory Internship and a Senior Research Thesis). ​Affiliated Research Institutes & Diagnostic Centers ​Students gain real-world laboratory and research experience through specialized university centers and partner institutions: ​AUCE Medical Research & Genomics Complex: A state-of-the-art facility featuring next-generation DNA sequencing units, cell culture rooms, and electron microscopy suites. ​AUCE Central Diagnostic Clinical Laboratories: Fully automated reference laboratories providing specialized molecular, microbiological, and histopathological diagnostic services. ​Network of Partnered Teaching Hospitals & Research Centers: Strategic affiliations with regional tertiary care hospitals, biotechnology institutes, and public health centers for supervised laboratory training and clinical rotations. ​

Graduate Studies: Master’s & Doctoral Degrees ​The College of Medical Sciences offers accredited Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees across all foundational medical and biomedical specializations. ​Master of Science (M.Sc.) Programs ​Focused on specialized scientific laboratory methodologies, advanced medical research, and diagnostic innovation. ​Duration of Study: 2 Academic Years. ​Total Credit Hours: 45 Credit Hours (comprising advanced scientific coursework, laboratory benchwork, and a master’s research thesis defense). ​Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programs ​Designed for university faculty careers, medical research institute leadership, biotechnology R&D management, and original doctoral research. ​

Duration of Study: 3 Academic Years. ​Total Credit Hours: 60 Credit Hours (including advanced doctoral research seminars, experimental laboratory work, and an original doctoral dissertation). ​Available Postgraduate Specialties ​Graduate candidates may pursue Master’s and Doctoral degrees in the following fields: ​Medical Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics ​Medical Microbiology, Virology & Immunology ​Clinical Pathology & Laboratory Diagnostics ​Cellular Pathology & Molecular Oncology ​Medical Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics ​Medical Human Physiology & Neurobiology
