​Academic Departments ​The faculty comprises dedicated basic science and clinical departments, ensuring an integrated educational approach: ​Department of Basic Medical Sciences: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, and Microbiology. ​Department of Internal Medicine: General Medicine, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, and Pulmonology. ​Department of General & Specialized Surgery: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Urology, and Cardiovascular Surgery. ​Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology: Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Reproductive Endocrinology. ​Department of Pediatrics & Child Health: Neonatology, General Pediatrics, and Pediatric Subspecialties. ​Department of Diagnostic & Therapeutic Sciences: Radiology, Anesthesiology, Clinical Pathology, and Forensic Medicine. ​Department of Public Health & Community Medicine: Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine, and Healthcare Management. ​System of Study & Academic Credit Hours ​The university operates under a rigorous Credit Hour System combined with an Integrated Systems-Based Curriculum. Theoretical knowledge is complemented by clinical rotations, modern simulation laboratories, and direct hospital training. ​Undergraduate Degree Program (MD / MBBS Equivalent): ​Total Academic Credit Hours: 240 Credit Hours. ​Duration of Study: 6 Academic Years (comprising 5 years of didactic and clinical coursework followed by 1 full year of compulsory Clinical Internship). ​Affiliated University Hospitals & Clinical Training Centers ​Students and postgraduates receive hands-on clinical training through the university’s dedicated healthcare network: ​AUCE University Teaching Hospital: A state-of-the-art tertiary care center equipped with specialized intensive care units, advanced surgical suites, and comprehensive diagnostic facilities. ​AUCE Center for Specialized Pediatric & Surgical Care: Dedicated to complex pediatric procedures, neonatal intensive care, and specialized surgical interventions. ​Network of Partnered Teaching Hospitals: Established clinical affiliations with regional and international tertiary hospitals to provide diverse clinical exposures during rotations and residency programs. ​Graduate Studies: Master’s & Doctoral Degrees ​The School of Medicine offers accredited Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Medicine / Doctor of Philosophy (M.D. / Ph.D.) degrees across all major medical and surgical specialties. ​Master of Science (M.Sc.)
