Academic Departments The faculty encompasses specialized clinical and foundational oral science departments: Department of Basic & Oral Sciences: Oral Anatomy, Histology, Oral Pathology, and Dental Biomaterials. Department of Restorative & Esthetic Dentistry: Operative Dentistry, Endodontics, and Cosmetic Dental Procedures. Department of Prosthodontics: Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics, and Implantology. Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery: General Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial Trauma, Orthognathic Surgery, and Implant Surgery. Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics: Malocclusion Correction, Clear Aligner Therapy, and Growth Modification. Department of Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics: Comprehensive Oral Healthcare for Children and Special Needs Patients. Department of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry: Periodontal Therapy, Soft Tissue Management, and Surgical Implantology. Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology: Diagnostic Imaging, Oral Diagnosis, Digital Radiography, and Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). System of Study & Academic Credit Hours The university implements an Integrated Credit Hour System combining preclinical simulation, interactive didactic coursework, and direct patient care in specialized dental clinics. Undergraduate Degree Program (BDS / Doctor of Dental Surgery Equivalent): Total Academic Credit Hours: 200 Credit Hours. Duration of Study: 5 Academic Years (comprising 4 years of didactic, preclinical, and clinical study followed by 1 full year of compulsory Clinical Internship). Affiliated Dental Hospitals & Clinical Training Centers Clinical education is conducted within fully equipped university facilities and clinical centers: AUCE University Dental Hospital: A specialized facility featuring modern dental operatories, digital CAD/CAM laboratories, and advanced surgical suites. AUCE Center for Advanced Oral Health & Implantology: Dedicated to subspecialized clinical training, complex full-mouth reconstructions, and implant procedures. Network of Partnered Clinical Training Centers: Affiliated regional dental institutes providing comprehensive clinical exposure and community oral health outreach. Graduate Studies: Master’s & Doctoral Degrees The School of Dental Medicine offers accredited Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Dental Science (D.D.Sc. / Ph.D.) degrees across all recognized dental specialties. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Programs Focused on advanced clinical expertise, specialized patient care, and applied research. Duration of Study: 2 Academic Years. Total Credit Hours: 45 Credit Hours (comprising advanced clinical modules, patient care rotations, and a master’s thesis defense). Doctor of Dental Science (D.D.Sc. / Ph.D.) Programs Targeted toward academic leadership, surgical mastery, subspecialized clinical practice, and original doctoral research. Duration of Study: 3 Academic Years. Total Credit Hours: 60 Credit Hours (including advanced clinical fellowship hours, subspecialty seminars, and an original doctoral dissertation).
